With her husband they toured Italy from north to south. As women we spoke about the shops. She said “You know what was interesting. It was what I saw most of in Parma. I was looking for a particular thing and we went in and out a lot of small shops. It didn’t matter what type of shop it was, chemist, glassware, food, souvenirs, clothes, they all had one big display stand in a prominent position as you walked in the door. </p>
<p>Every display stand was full of treatments for your feet.</p>
<p>A sign of the times or a warning?</p>
<p><span id="more-434"></span></p>
<p>Do you give some positive attention to your feet every day? As a part of your physical body your feet are a long way from you head and often go un-noticed until they complain loudly. </p>
<p>I suggest you massage the soles of your feet every day to reap rewards. These rewards include improvement in your health and prevention of problems, present and future, in many parts of your body.  </p>
<p>If you do not have a foot or both feet, or cannot walk on them do the tips using the energy body, not the physical. Think of where the foot would be and give an energy massage – like it is a phantom foot.</p>
<p>Without care your feet can lead you to problems such as osteoporosis, hip and spine displacement, knee -bone muscle and tendon strain and pain, ankle rotation, with plantar warts, bunions, hammer toes, ingrown toenails and infections, fallen arches and more in or on your feet. Anyone who has suffered gout in one or both feet will certainly attest to the pain they experience as a result. To ease the pain of bunions often requires medical removal of part of the toe bone and replace it with a straight piece of inflexible metal or artificial material.</p>
<p>Two major problems stand out as a cause of foot problems now: lack of walking in bare feet on the earth or grass and wearing shoes made from synthetic materials. Our feet are not flat and are made to walk on uneven natural surfaces not concrete and flat modern material. If covered they still require the skin to breathe and release energy and perspiration when hot. Unless the footwear is of a natural material this can’t happen and many foot problems become chronic. </p>
<p>However a dangerous desire has come upon the female population in recent years (which I have mentioned in earlier articles). Following this desire can, and most likely will, lead to many of the foot problems stated above.</p>
<p>The desire of course is to follow the current shoe fashion for extreme high heels. The fashion is sold to females as making them taller, slimmer, and more desirable etc. If you are a female and think the shoes do make you taller, slimmer, and more desirable they probably do. It is how long and how often the shoes are worn that does or does not lead to more serious problems than aching feet.</p>
<p>If you wear high-heeled shoes I don’t advocate you give that up. The tips here give some assistance to your feet so they can give you their best service.</p>
<p><strong>1.      Massage the soles of your feet. </strong></p>
<p>In the evening massage the sole of each foot with the palm and heel of your hand. Simply place the palm of your hand on heel sole of one foot and with the other hand press firmly as you move it up the sole and off the foot at the top of the toes. Do this for both feet. Start with 30x per foot and build up to 100.</p>
<p><strong>2.      Personalise your shoe choice.  </strong></p>
<p>We are all aware that if your feet hurt it shows as tension on your face- not a good look. The centre of gravity (balance) in your body is in the middle of the body about three finger widths below your navel. Before you choose new shoes try them on. Then bend your knees slightly and lean forward and backward a little, and straighten up again. Check if your body, especially your spine, is in balance. If it isn’t and you intend to wear those shoes it helps if you wear them for only a couple of hours at a time. This applies especially if the heels are more than 7 centimetres/3 inches.</p>
<p><strong>3.      Ankle Rotations.<br />
</strong><br />
To support your feet do some ankle rotations often. You can do them when you wake up in bed. Just rotate your ankles 9x in one direction, then 9 times in the other direction. It doesn’t matter whether you start clockwise or counter-clockwise. Do them whenever you stand for a few moments especially if you have been sitting for more than an hour. If you are a plane traveller do them as soon as you can after landing. I do them while waiting for my baggage.</p>
<p>Enjoy your walking with healthy happy feet.</p>

Often we release these in ways that aren’t useful and still leave us angry, anxious, and fearful. On the inside we may be holding grief, envy, and be full of self doubt.   If this has happened to you at any time you may well think your emotions are being freed up by your actions and thoughts. However, these reactions take your further away from positive action and your natural kindness, joyfulness, peacefulness, and being calm. And so stress builds even more until eventually there is illness or a poorer quality of life.</p>
<p>When you show anger people may tell you that you aren’t dealing with your emotions. Your natural response is, ‘of course I am, I am releasing my anger’. You may, as I have been in the past, confused by this and not know how to feel any other way. The three tips chosen today vary so you can choose the one that is most useful or appealing to you at this time. Several can be done immediately and you can take action on all of them in a short time if you wish.</p>
<p><span id="more-412"></span></p>
<p><strong>1.      Thump Your Thymus Gland. </strong></p>
<p>Humans are the only primates that don’t automatically thump their thymus gland (excepting Tarzan!). Our Thymus gland is vital to our longevity and immune system.<br />
Use a half closed fist or the pads of three fingers and each morning thump firmly ten times, once per second. It is a 10 second boost to improve your energy and it can last all day. Or do it when you start to feel negative. It is like jump-starting a car that then moves forward easily.</p>
<p><strong>2.      Give Self Love to Your Bone Marrow.  </strong> </p>
<p>Bone marrow is vital for our body’s cell reproduction. Qigong exercises have for 1000’s of years emphasized the value of bone marrow health which is the home of our stem cells. This practice is a huge stimulus to all your energy field and especially helpful in giving your emotions a positive powerful boost.</p>
<p>Do this brief visualization repeating to yourself five times, “Being my bones strong, flexible, healthy”.<br />
Next think of someone or somewhere you love. Think of the person or place and breathe that love you have into your heart for 1 minute. Then release the love energy from your heart to the person or place.<br />
Build up the love in your heart again, and when ready to release send the energy to your bone marrow with the words or thought “I send self love to my bone marrow”.Repeat twice more.</p>
<p><strong>3.      Join a Healing Qigong class. </strong></p>
<p>Join a Qigong class that works with the Abdominal and other ways of breathing. When your breath is activated from lower in the body it brings with it positive feelings. When you breath comes from the upper half of your body, and especially higher in the chest it continues to bring forward emotions that have a negative effect or inappropriate action.   After practicing breathing which activates the inner orbit of energy your health and life take on new options. The best thing is it builds up the sympathetic nervous system which sends a balance of serotonin, dopamine, norepherine and more to activate your brain’s neurotransmitters.</p>
<p>At the same time as you are doing this breathing it lifts your endorphins – our natural pain killers.</p>

Our individual reproduction systems change moment by moment with hormones. Sometimes hormones feel as though they are racing then bouncing up and down and life is great. At other times it seems like they have forgotten what their job is in our body. Today’s tips can be used to gain and maintain balance in key aspects of your reproduction system. This adds strength and balance to your central nervous system and immune system and lifts your energy.</p>
<p><span id="more-408"></span></p>
<p><strong>FOR MEN</strong></p>
<p>Signs of problems with the prostate gland in men can be seen energetically many years ahead of their effect on the physical body and medical tests. Did you can use your breath to great effect each day for a few moments and assist your prostate gland to stay healthy?</p>
<p><em>Prostate Energetics</em>. First locate these three areas or points in your body. Locate the area inside your body just behind your pubic bone, the perineum point on the base of the body between your genitals and your anus, and your anus.</p>
<p>Breathe in as you pull up from each of the three areas, pubic, perineum, anus towards the lower back. Breathe out as you pull in your lower abdomen and think/see/imagine the energy going out through the lower spine area of your back. Repeat twice more. Relax.</p>
<p><strong>FOR WOMEN</strong></p>
<p>Are you haunted by two frequent or irregular menstrual periods, or pain before and/or during menstruation. In Medical Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine this is to due to the energy of the liver, spleen, and heart. The following two practices will aid bringing the female triangle of uterus and ovaries into balance.</p>
<p><strong>Acupoint Massage</strong>. Massage ankle points B60 (bladder) and K3 (kidney). These points are each side of the ankle bone where it protrudes on the leg. Rub up and down 3-4 cms for up to 1 minute each day. If you rub in a semi circle around each side of the ankle bone you will be massaging the points.</p>
<p><em>Ming Men Massage</em>. The Ming Men is the area on the lower back spine directly opposite the navel. Massage down from the Ming Men to the bottom of the tailbone, then around the tailbone and up to the Ming Men. Start with 9 times then increase the amount each day until you build up to 36 times daily.</p>

Unfortunately, it may be some time, even years, before you realize the kidneys have been weakened.</p>
<p>The kidneys and adrenals react to what is stressful for you. Some stress is normal and the kidneys will cope and stay in balance. Modern living now makes it difficult for the energy balance to be maintained. For example, when you intake caffeine it sets up a danger alert from the kidneys-adrenals to the brain that more adrenaline is needed to be produced. This brings an adrenaline rush and depletes the kidney-adrenal healthy balance.</p>
<p><span id="more-403"></span></p>
<p><strong>1.      Massage Your Kidneys. </strong></p>
<p>Place both palms of hands together and rub them briskly until they are very hot. Place hot palms on to the middle of your back at the waistline. Rub your palms up and down the middle of your back for 36 times. Begin with 10 times and gradually build up. This tip is great to do what at the computer. It only takes seconds and your back benefits more each time you do it.</p>
<p><strong>2.      Massage Your Feet. </strong></p>
<p>Why massage my feet when my kidneys are in my back you may ask. The start of your kidney channel, which brings energy into the kidneys, is on the soles of your feet. Look at the sole of one foot and squeeze your toes. Then look at the pad of the top of the foot and there will be a small indent in the middle of the foot at the base of the pad (about one third down your foot). This is the Kidney 1 point that connects with Earth energy and supplies energy to your kidneys to build them up and reduce stress. Bubbling Spring is one of the names given this in Chinese medicine, a name that describes it perfectly as it is where energy is gathered and bubbles up into your body. If you think about walking and jumping the Bubbling Spring point is where your feet ‘’spring’’ from as they move.</p>
<p><em>To Massage:</em>   Use the palm of your hand on the bottom of the heel of the opposite foot. Rub palm firmly from the heel up until off the toes. Repeat up to 100 times. Start with what feels right to you and build up gradually each day. This massage also does wonders for your circulation. When done before retiring to sleep it encourages calm sound sleep.</p>
<p><strong>3.      Turn Your Energy Over. </strong></p>
<p>This is a great practice as you can do it almost any time you want to as no-one can observe it happening, yet it can have a profound effect on reducing stress thus benefits the kidneys and adrenals.</p>
<p>To turn your energy over notice when you have a thought or hear a sound, or get a feeling which, for you, is negative. Immediately think or say “Thanks for the message” as this is your body’s way of letting you know something needs attention. Then think of a phrase you believe is positive about yourself. Begin with the physical body. E.g. I love it when my eyes twinkle. Or I like my hair. Or I like the way I walk. Repeat your positive phrase three times. This works as it lifts your energy and stops the negative phrase being internalized and adding to a deeper, stressful pattern. </p>
<p>Use any of these tips when you feel your energy needs a boost. Commit to doing one of them daily. Gradually you will find you not only feel better, these practices have taken such a little effort and time to keep your stress down and your eyes smiling.</p>

<p><strong>1.      One Minute Connection. </strong></p>
<p>Imagine or think of your favourite place outdoors. Imagine or think you are there when it is your favourite season. Physically stand, or in your mind, see yourself there right now.   </p>
<p>Use your intention and tell your body to open all the pores of your skin to receive fresh new energy to refuel you.   Relax with soft, gentle, deep breathing. Stay as long as you can. Recall the experience, however briefly, at every opportunity.</p>
<p><strong>2.      Mighty Mountain Energy. </strong></p>
<p>Maybe you haven’t ever been high up on a mountain. This is your opportunity to go there with your mind for a mind-body experience.</p>
<p>Think of a mountain or mountains you have visited or seen in a magazine, photo, or on television. Maybe it is one you have said to yourself at sometime “I want to visit this place one day”.</p>
<p>Relax and slow your breathing so it is soft and even. In your mind’s eye see yourself on the mountain surrounded by healthy leafy emerald green trees that seem to reach the sky. Inhale the energy from the branches and leaves on the trees to deep inside your body. See the energy spreading out to every cell in your body as it receives this life-giving essence.   Exhale and join with the energy of the trees as your energy moves down into the earth and up through the tree roots, the trunk, then to the branches and leaves. Do for 10 breaths.   Thank the trees for their abundance.</p>
<p>This is a great practice to do when you want to have a restful sleep.</p>
<p><strong>3.      Pot Plant Heaven. </strong></p>

<p>Brief ‘working inside’ can be equally valuable when done often. The practices build higher vibrations in your energy and body. At the same time as it builds up your energy it releases tension and stress. <p>The more you use these quick and easy practices, the more effective they become and your body (and people around you) will love you for it.</p>
<p>These tips can be done while sitting at your desk, riding on a bus or other transport when you are not the driver, waiting for a phone call, or the kettle to boil, or when you put your feet up for a few minutes. They are especially useful if done before racing to meet a deadline, or go for an interview or meeting.</p>
<p><strong>1.      Rainbow Colour Balls.</strong></p>
<p>Use the seven colours of the rainbow in this order red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. The initials are easy to remember ROYGBIV.</p>
<p>Stand, sit, or lie down and breathe naturally.</p>
<p>Think, imagine, or feel the colour red fill up your body starting at the feet and moving upwards until every part of you is filled with the colour red, or red light.</p>
<p>Hold the colour and as you exhale imagine it expanding in a circle up to 2 metres around you, as though you are in the middle of a soft red balloon.</p>
<p>When you can no longer ‘hold’ red, let it go and move on to the next colour.</p>
<p>Continue until you have used the seven colours. If there is one colour that is difficult to hold, it indicates more is needed by your body so build it up when you practice again.</p>
<p>With time and practice these coloured circles can build up into a perfect aura.</p>
<p><strong>2.      Make Your Problems Lighter. </strong></p>
<p>When today seems to be going even faster than yesterday it is the time to do this practice. Take a few minutes to be quiet and think/visualize each problem and see it turn into a feather just in front of the top of your head. Watch as one by one they lightly dance and float down to the earth. It can take time for some problems to sort themselves out. When a problem occurs see it moving lightly and sorting out, just like it did as a feather. </p>
<p><strong>3.      Crystal Water Wash. </strong> </p>
<p>Before you start to tackle a problem or problems give yourself a Crystal Water Wash. This ‘wash’ can be unbelievably effective and so so easy.</p>
<p>Slow your breathing to soft, gentle, easy and imagine an enormous bright shiny crystal above you.</p>
<p>See the crystal turn into pure sparkling light water as it comes down the front of your head, neck, shoulders, arms, front of your body and down the front of your legs flowing out from your feet.</p>
<p>Repeat the process this time down the back of your body.</p>
<p>Third part is repeat the process down the centre of your body.</p>
<p>Allow yourself a few moments to enjoy the total sense of clarity before you come back into the present</p>

<p>The physical origin of your Hay fever can be many places in your body, not necessarily in your head. Several examples below indicate which areas of your body are involved in bringing forward your Hay fever.</p>
<p>Use these tips two to three times a day to prevent and clear symptoms of Hay fever.</p>
<p><span id="more-379"></span></p>
<p><strong>1.      Itchy or Dry Eyes.</strong> For these symptoms it is best to treat your eyes and Liver, the factory of your body. </p>
<p>Massage for two minutes the area over the body on the right side where the liver is situated under the ribcage.</p>
<p>Massage for a minute the area on the top of each foot 2cm up from where the big toe and second join.<br />
With your fists massage from the centre of the inner eyebrows to the side of the head then from the centre of the face across the top of the cheek bones.</p>
<p>Next place pads of thumbs at the top of the eye sockets each side of the bridge of the nose.</p>
<p><strong>2.      Easy Head Massage. </strong>These gently techniques will activate movement of fluid and blood throughout your head and encourage a healthy flow of energy rather than it being stagnant.</p>
<p>Start from front hairline and run your fingers through your hair or over to the base of your head. Repeat 10 times.</p>
<p>Use the pads of all your fingers to tap firmly all over your head for 30-60 seconds.</p>
<p>Slightly cup your palms and pat all over your head for up to 1 minute.</p>
<p><strong>3.      Massage the Soles of Your Feet.</strong> This may seem odd since the problem appears in the head. This technique is similar to massaging the top of the head. It is aimed to improve the flow of energy and fluids in the area by bringing into balance the flow of energy on the upper and lower half of your body. By using the soles of the feet, the overheated energy will be drawn down and out of the body</p>
<p>Choose which foot to start on. Use the palm of your hand to rub firmly from the heel, up the sole of the foot and off the top of the toes. Repeat both sides up to 100times each.   This particular technique is also good for removing inflammation from the body.</p>
